Yoga The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root meaning to “bind, join, attach and yoke, to direct and concentrate one's attention on, to use and apply”. It also means union or communion. It is the true union of our will with the will of God. "It thus means," says Mahadev Desai in his introduction to the Gita, according to Gandhi, "the yoking of all the powers of body, mind and soul to God; the disciplining of the intellect, the mind, the emotions, the will, which that Yoga presupposes; a poise of the soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects evenly." Yoga helps reduce fatigue in people with memory disorders, a Health and Science University study says. The study participants were monitored f fatigue and quality of life. People taking the yoga or exercise classes did show significant improvement in their levels of fatigue. Yoga uses the practice of posture to quiet the restless mind. By moving inward one discovers joyful living that is in alignment with our body's rhythms. Our Leeza’s Place advocate can offer a network of practitioners for caregivers and their loved ones alike. |
